For nearly two decades the Dunks for Drew boys basketball showcase has proven to be a must-watch event.
Expect more of the same on Saturday, when CASHS Field House plays host to a two-pack of games. Shippensburg and Boiling Springs will do battle at 6 p.m., before Chambersburg and Greencastle-Antrim take center stage in the feature event, the latter of which we’ve selected as our Game of the Week.
The Blue Devils, eager to distance themselves from last year’s 8-14 record, are off to a great start this winter. A Top 10 squad in the District 3-5A power rankings, Greencastle is undefeated in Mid-Penn Colonial Division play and has lost just twice all season. Coach Todd Stephens’ boys will be aiming to knock off Chambersburg for the first time since the 2017-18 season.
To stop the surging Blue Devils, the Trojans will have to quickly regain their footing. After starting the season 3-0, Chambersburg has suffered four losses in five games. Clinging to the 14th spot in the 6A power rankings, expect the Trojans to put it all on the line against their Franklin County rivals.
In the weeks and months to come throughout the high school sports season, we plan on spotlighting multiple teams and sports with our Game of the Week. Any big upcoming contests we should know about? Send suggestions to Andy Sandrik via email at [email protected].
