Following a breakout 2025 season on the local circuits that saw Trevor Gach win 12 races, the 16-year-old Chambersburg driver has taken his talents on the road.
Now competing in the 305 Sprints with the nickname “Gachinator” and a busy schedule that includes stops at speedways in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Virginia, Gach is eager to make his mark at the next level.
He took a big step forward last weekend when he landed his first Top 5 finish of the season at Traveler’s Rest Speedway in South Carolina. Gach conquered his heat race, and then jumped from seventh to fifth in the 25-lap feature. He had little time to celebrate the finish, as Lavonia Speedway in Georgia was waiting the next day.
Gach was once again on track for a bright finish at Lavonia. He started 12th in the feature and was running sixth with two laps remaining when his car lost its brakes and caught the rear of another driver. The car was junked, but Gach was OK, and he later received the Tough Luck Award for the night.
Closer to home, Fayetteville’s Lance Dewease followed up on a 410 Sprints victory at Williams Grove Speedway with another Top 10 finish at BAPS Motor Speedway last weekend. The National Sprint Car Hall of Famer posted the top qualifying time, took fourth in his heat, and moved from fifth to seventh in the 30-lap feature.
Finally at McGrewBid Motoplex, Greencastle’s Todd Walls took eighth place in the PA Micro Midgets 500cc feature.
Race programs at Williams Grove and Port Royal Speedways were rained out, but scheduled to return this weekend. Locally, Path Valley Speedway kicks off its season this weekend with the Claybreaker Season Opener, while Hagerstown Speedway is two weeks away from the start of racing.
Below is a track-by-track, feature-by-feature look at races from last weekend that included drivers from the Local.News1 coverage area:
