CASCADE, Md. – The Fort Ritchie Community Center will host health-focused events throughout August, aimed at providing essential services to local residents.
On Tuesday, Aug. 12, and Tuesday, Aug. 25, join Susan Lasher for a workout using various concepts and practices to increase muscle flexibility and range of motion. Students will be instructed to use tools and relaxation techniques to discover which concept best suits their needs. It will begin at 6 p.m. on those Tuesdays
On Tuesday, Aug. 12, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and on Friday, Aug. 22, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Lindsay Ridenour from the Washington County Health Department will be at the Community Center to offer free blood pressure and pre-diabetes screenings.
Also on Tuesday, Aug. 12, and additionally on Aug. 26, Tabitha’s Table, located in Smithsburg, Maryland, will be providing the community with food items from their pantry by 11 a.m. until the food items are gone.
On Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., you can treat yourself to a mobile chair massage! You can pay by the minute for a 10-, 15-, or 20-minute session with Miranda Tyler, massage therapist. Appointments are by walk-in only, and all clients must sign a liability waiver before receiving service.
