National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Lance Dewease just celebrated a milestone birthday in October. Last weekend at BAPS Motor Speedeay, the 60-year-old “Fayetteville Flyer” showed that his storied career still has plenty of mileage remaining.
Competing in the 410 Sprints feature, Dewease navigated the 30-lapper for an eighth-place finish. He began the day by winning his heat race and drawing the pole for the feature. Dewease fell from his starting position, but hung on for a Top 10 finish. The race was by Brent Marks, the “Myerstown Missile,” over Chase Dietz and Anthony Macri.
It was the last race of 2025 for Dewease. He qualified for 40 features and posted 15 finishes in the Top 5, including two wins.
The Enduro Small Car feature at BAPS included Top 10 finishes from two area drivers: Chambersburg’s Colton Lake and Fayetteville’s Chase Beidel. Lake took fourth place in the 50-lap feature, while Beidel landed in eighth. The race was won by Ryan Smith over Dylan Sheeler and Matt Peck.
BAPS also hosted an Enduro Big Car, which was won by Dylan Schantz over Ty Huntsberger and Scott Riggleman.
Below is a feature-by-feature look at races from last weekend that included drivers from the Local.News1 coverage area:
