Crouse earns first career win at Path Valley Speedway

Someone buy a drink — make that a chocolate milk — for Aidan Crouse, a rising junior at Greencastle-Antrim who earned the first dirt track racing win of his career at Path Valley Speedway on Saturday.

Competing in the 270 Sprints, Crouse blasted off for victory over the 22-car field. Crouse, also a member of the Blue Devils wrestling squad, earned his win over fellow Greencastle driver Bradyn Kuhn, as well as Alex Lukacs. Zach Glass, of Fort Loudon, took fifth.

Path Valley’s race program featured another local winner in Chambersburg’s Kevin Bard, who cruised to victory in the Thunder Cars race and was chased to the finish line by St. Thomas’ Doug Sales (4th) and Fayetteville’s Roger Traxler (5th).

Also at Path Valley, Chambersburg’s Trevor Gach took fourth in the 600 Sprints, while three area drivers landed in the Top 10 in the Limited Late Models: St. Thomas’ Gunner Walls (3rd) and Greencastle’s DJ Myers (6th) and Brandon Bard (8th).

National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Lance Dewease had quite the weekend of racing at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday and Port Royal Speedway on Saturday.

The “Fayetteville Flyer” won the 410 Sprints during Friday’s Lynn Paxton Classic and claimed $8,000 in the process. Dewease started on the pole and immediately slipped to second place behind Ryan Smith, but he reclaimed his lead on the sixth lap. Dewease faced a late challenge from 11th-starter Danny Dietrich, but held on to win the 20-lap feature by .875 seconds.

One day later, Dewease was starting from the eighth spot at Port Royal. He jumped six spots to finish as the runner-up behind Logan Wagner.

Below is a track-by-track, feature-by-feature look at last weekend’s races that included drivers from the Local.News1 coverage area:
