College Corner: Waynesboro grad Shaull gets his shot at Ithaca, leads Bombers to unbeaten start

All Bryson Shaull had been asking for was a chance, but in his two years at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Waynesboro’s former standout goalkeeper had exactly zero college minutes to his name.

Ithaca College, however, saw value in Shaull and gave him a part-time opportunity in 2024. That experience has blossomed into something much bigger for Shaull, who seized the starting job this fall and has been nothing less than a star for the undefeated Bombers. With Shaull in goal, Ithaca has allowed just two goals over the season’s first eight games.

In College Corner this week, we’ll take a closer look at the exploits of Shaull, while also shining the spotlight on other former Waynesboro stars, like Angie Ayala-Luna, who is lighting up the scoreboard for the Hagerstown CC women’s soccer team this season.

In the months to come, College Corner will rotate coverage to Greencastle-Antrim and Chambersburg, before circling back to Waynesboro.

Are we missing anybody? Additions for College Corner can be sent to Andy Sandrik via email at [email protected].
