Kate Etter got a taste of college stardom after putting up some big numbers on the volleyball court as a sophomore last season.
Following a campaign which saw Etter compile over 500 combined points and digs, the former Chambersburg Trojans ace was honored as a Second Team selection to the All-Atlantic East Conference team.
Now an upperclassman for the Griffins at Gwynedd Mercy University, Etter just may be taking her game to the next level this fall. She currently leads her squad with 60 kills over five matches, with 20 of those kills coming on a single night.
Etter isn’t the only former Trojans standout making a difference at the collegiate level. Grant Hopple leads the California (Pa.) football team in tackles, while Camy Kiser already has a Top 5 finish to her name this fall competing for the Division I Pittsburgh Panthers cross country squad.
In College Corner we’ll take a closer look at these athletes and several other former Chambersburg stars. In the months to come, we will rotate coverage to Waynesboro and Greencastle-Antrim, before circling back to Chambersburg.
Are we missing anybody? Additions for College Corner can be sent to Andy Sandrik via email at [email protected].
