WAYNESBORO – Church of the Apostles will host a small group this Lent centered around “The Chosen,” a popular television series that depicts the life and teachings of Jesus in a modern, relatable way.
The group will meet Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. beginning Feb. 18 at the church, 336 Barnett Ave. Each session will include viewing one episode followed by conversation and reflection. Participants may attend any week, as each episode is designed as a stand-alone experience.
Pastor Mark Ruzicka said the gatherings offer a space for people to explore faith, ask honest questions and share meaningful discussion in a welcoming community setting.
“The Chosen,” a multi-season series crowd-funded by viewers, has drawn an international audience of more than 200 million viewers and over 770 million episode streams in at least 190 countries, according to Google. The show’s high ratings—typically between 97 and 99 percent on Rotten Tomatoes—reflect its global popularity and impact.
Those interested in joining the sessions are encouraged to attend any Wednesday during Lent. For more information, readers may call the church office at 717-762-4113.
