WAYNESBORO – The Waynesboro Area Senior High School varsity wrestling team begins the 2021-22 season on Dec. 11 in a duals tournament at Spring Grove. The first home competition will be on Dec. 21 against James Buchanan in a Mid-Penn Colonial Division meet. Four Waynesboro area youth football players were selected to play in the 6th annual BK Classic All-American game in York. Anthony Ausherman, Ryan Martin, Hunter Clark and Mick Torbica were selected to compete in this fall’s classic. Ausherman will play in the seventh grade game. Martin, Clark and Torbica will compete in the eighth grade contest. Ausherman, Clark and Martin play for the Quincy Panthers of the Keystone Youth Football League. In the space of one year, 11 months, Haley Devers has accomplished what it takes other competitive powerlifters years to do: win championships. Devers, 20, a Waynesboro Area Senior High School graduate and now a college student, has competed and placed in eight competitions in five federations: American Powerlifting Association (APA), USA Powerlifting (USAPL), United States Powerlifting Association (USPA), and Revolution Powerlifting Syndicate (RPS), International Powerlifting League (IPL). WAYNESBORO—The Waynesboro Area Senior High School varsity golf team recently completed another fantastic season under coach Ryan Henderson. After finishing second fiddle to a dominant Chambersburg team for years, Waynesboro won its third consecutive Mid-Penn Colonial Division championship, “We advanced the most players into the postseason this year with five, and we represented our division at the Mid-Penn championships where we finished fourth out of eight teams,” said Henderson.
