WAYNESBORO – The Waynesboro Maidens varsity softball team has made it customary to pour on the runs against the competition. But on a breezy Monday afternoon on its home field, Waynesboro was on the other end of a high-scoring game. The Maidens fell behind 10-0 to Northern York, and it appeared the contest was headed for a 10-run rule outcome after five innings. At Enola, the Waynesboro varsity boys’ basketball team lost 62-48 to State College in a Mid-Penn Conference tournament semifinal game played at East Pennsboro High School on Tuesday night. The Indians, champions of the Mid-Penn Colonial Division, faced off against the Little Lions, winners of the Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division. ENOLA – The Waynesboro Area Senior High School girls’ swim team has already enjoyed an historic season, and the Maidens made it even more historic by winning their division in just the first season of sanctioned competition.
