QUINCY—Quincy Township is once again the subject of court action. The township has been sued under the Pennsylvania Whistleblowers Law by a former employee. According to the lawsuit filed in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, former township employee Corey Kaiser alleges township officials intentionally retaliated against him based upon his good faith reports to the appropriate authorities of wrongdoing and waste. WAYNE HEIGHTS—Washington Township officials are getting some state funding that will help them address a common complaint: the timing of traffic lights throughout the township. The township is one of 70 municipalities across the state that will share in more than $37 million in funding through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Green Light-Go program. WAYNESBORO—An incident in the Borough of Waynesboro Sunday evening drew more than a half dozen emergency responder groups to a residence on Harrison Avenue. According to Waynesboro Police Department, officers were called to a residence around 4 p.m. July 17, for a report of a home invasion and stabbing. ROUZERVILLE—Washington Township officials and others recently celebrated a ceremonial groundbreaking on the new township building on Buchanan Trail East. The 12,120-square-foot building, will house township administrative staff, the Washington Township Police Department and the tax collector’s office.The land was donated by local philanthropist, Alma Oyer and the new facility was made possible through a $2 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant facilitated by Rep. WAYNESBORO—A Waynesboro child has been charged with one felony count of terroristic threats, one misdemeanor count of terroristic threats and one felony count of criminal use of a communications facility, after posting a threat on social media. According to Waynesboro Police, officers received a complaint late Tuesday about a social media post that showed a picture of a masked subject with handgun. The message stated that students should not go to school.
