THURMONT, Md. – Kinsley Construction’s highway and bridge team is preparing to build a new pedestrian bridge in Frederick County, Maryland. Funded through a Program Open Space grant and a Local Parks & Playgrounds Infrastructure grant, the project will improve pedestrian access between Thurmont Community Park, the Thurmont Trolley Trail and the Lewis Area of Catoctin Mountain Park. Once complete, the bridge will provide a safe connection for hikers to access the national park’s extensive trail system and beyond.
Kinsley Construction’s scope includes the design and installation of a 70-foot prefabricated Contech steel truss pedestrian bridge over Big Hunting Creek. The work also involves foundation design and installation, along with site restoration.
We’re proud to partner with the Town of Thurmont on this important community enhancement. Construction begins this month and is expected to wrap up in October.
