SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — The 68th annual Shippensburg Community Fair will return July 20–25 at the Shippensburg Fairgrounds, bringing a week of agriculture, entertainment and family-friendly activities to the region.
Organized and supported by hundreds of local volunteers and organizations, the fair highlights the strong connection between the community and its agricultural roots. Livestock shows, dairy competitions and home products exhibits remain central to the event, alongside a full schedule of entertainment and attractions.
The fair officially opens Monday, July 20, following a limited Sunday evening kickoff that includes a stockman’s contest, a band concert and a community vespers service.
Throughout the week, attendees can expect a mix of traditional fair competitions and interactive events. Highlights include the Little Miss and Fair Queen contests on Monday evening, tractor pulls and dirt drags, and a wide variety of livestock shows featuring beef, sheep, goats and dairy cattle.
Tuesday’s schedule features the popular pedal tractor pull for children and adults, as well as live music from Erich Cawalla & The Uptown Band. On Wednesday, Kiddies’ Day offers discounted all-day rides, paired with the 56th annual craft show and educational presentations from the Franklin County Beekeepers Association.
Entertainment continues with country artist Isaac Cole on Wednesday and a karaoke contest Thursday evening. Friday night will feature “Don Jovi,” a Bon Jovi tribute band, followed by Saturday’s performance from “Back In Black,” an AC/DC tribute act.
In addition to nightly entertainment, the midway will operate throughout the week with rides, games and attractions such as laser tag and the Pretty Bird Paradise exhibit.
The fair concludes Saturday, July 25, with a full slate of events including the Chuck Lesher 5K, the junior livestock sale and evening truck and tractor pulls.
The week will culminate with a closing celebration and fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, commemorating the 68th fair and celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. The fireworks, presented by the Hub City Club of Shippensburg, are expected to draw large crowds as a finale to the weeklong event.
