It was a stellar season for Franklin County high school baseball.
Greencastle-Antrim (23-3) won the PIAA Class 5A state title, Chambersburg (18-8) advanced to the second round of the 6A state tournament after finishing as the District 3 runner-up, and Waynesboro racked up a 17-5 record.
Fittingly, five Franklin County players recently were named to the 2026 Pennsylvania State Baseball Coaches Association All-State Teams.
First-team selections included Greencastle’s Cam Rakaczewski in Class 5A and Waynesboro’s Ryan Jenkins and Chambersburg’s Ryne Mills in Class 6A. Greencastle’s Avery Horst and Waynesboro’s Rylan Nichols both were second-team choices.
Rakaczewski, a sophomore infielder, batted .483 with 13 doubles, two triples, two homers, 37 RBIs, 41 runs scored and 18 stolen bases. On the mound, he had a 0.60 ERA.
Jenkins, a senior infielder, batted .476 with four homers, 33 RBIs and 28 runs scored.
Mills, a senior pitcher, went 10-0 with a 1.25 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 73 innings. At the plate, he added three triples and two home runs.
Horst, a senior outfielder, batted .382 with nine doubles, 33 RBIs and 17 stolen bases. On the mound, he went 8-1 with a 1.59 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 39 2/3 innings.
