CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — A pedestrian was killed and two drivers were injured in a three-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon at a Franklin County intersection, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The crash occurred around 3:44 p.m. at the intersection of Tomstown Road and Mentzer Gap Road.
Police said a Hyundai traveling east on Mentzer Gap Road collided with a Jeep that was heading north on Tomstown Road after the Jeep entered the intersection without clearance.
Following the initial impact, the Jeep left the roadway and struck a pedestrian, identified as 53-year-old Katina I. Espinosa of Chambersburg. The vehicle then hit a parked Nissan Rogue.
Espinosa was pronounced dead at the scene due to fatal injuries.
Both drivers involved in the crash sustained minor injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, police said.
All three vehicles involved suffered disabling damage and were towed from the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by Pennsylvania State Police.
