HAGERSTOWN, Md. — A 38-year-old Hagerstown man was arrested within 10 minutes after he allegedly fired into a group of people with whom he was arguing, police reported.
Police said they were called to 51 Murph Avenue just after 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, after a report of shots fired. The suspect fled the area but was arrested withing 10 minutes of the shooting. The suspect, later identified as 38-year-old Christian Allen Williams, was seen on city cameras firing a gun toward a group he was arguing with. There were no injuries as a result of the shooting.
The apprehension of the suspect, police said, was due to the quick work of the employees in the police department’s Real Time Information Center and the deployment of the police drone.
Williams was transported to Washington County Detention Center where he was charged with attempted second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, handgun Use in a commission of a violent crime and reckless endangerment.
