HARRISBURG, Pa. — The friendly wager between two state lawmakers paid off this week after Greencastle-Antrim captured the PIAA Class 5A baseball championship.
Rep. Mike Armanini, R-Elk/Clearfield, followed through on his end of the bet Monday, June 15, delivering Scotty’s Donuts from DuBois to Greencastle. In addition, Armanini made a donation to Greencastle’s food pantry as part of the agreement.
Rep. Chad Reichard, R-Franklin, noted that regardless of the game’s outcome, he had already planned to make a donation to DuBois.
The wager, placed ahead of the championship matchup between Greencastle-Antrim and DuBois Area, included both local treats and charitable contributions, adding a community-focused element to the state title game.
