CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Dollar General has confirmed plans to open a new store at the site of a former Rite Aid in Chambersburg.
A company spokesperson said construction is underway at 415 E. Queen St. in Chambersburg, where the new location will replace the closed pharmacy.
The store will span more than 8,500 square feet and is expected to employ between six and 10 people, depending on operational needs once it opens.
Like other Dollar General locations nationwide, the store will carry a variety of products, including food items, health and beauty supplies, cleaning products and household goods.
The company said the store is projected to open within the next month, barring any construction delays.
Job seekers interested in working at the new location can apply through the company’s careers website.
Founded in 1939, Dollar General operates more than 20,000 stores across 48 states, according to its website.
