WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Church of the Apostles, United Church of Christ, has unveiled its schedule for the upcoming Sunday Evening Concerts series, set to take place throughout June at the church’s outdoor pavilion.
The weekly events will begin at 6 p.m. at the pavilion, located on the church grounds at 336 Barnett Ave. Organizers said attendees should bring their own lawn chairs and are encouraged to invite friends and neighbors from the surrounding community.
The series features three distinct musical acts performing various arrangements of Christian, folk, and acoustic music. Organizers noted the concerts will be held inside the main church building in the event of inclement weather.
The musical lineup kicks off June 7 with Harmony Hymns. The group specializes in unique arrangements of familiar hymns and folk songs, incorporating vocals, banjo, and guitar. In addition to the musical performances, the group will share historical backgrounds of the songs, including two Christian tracks popularized by bluegrass musician Alison Krauss.
Following a one-week break, the series resumes June 21 with Mountain Air, marking the group’s first show of the season. The ensemble blends guitar, mandolin, and vocal harmonies to deliver a mix of acoustic, contemporary, folk, and pop-country music.
The June concert series concludes June 28 with a performance by 7 Mile Road. The group’s repertoire focuses on Christian music, featuring original songs, contemporary praise music, and folk-rock selections. The band utilizes a variety of musical instruments accompanied by blended vocal harmonies.
All performances are open to the public. For more information about the concert series, contact Church of the Apostles, UCC.
