WAYNESBORO, Pa. — The Antietam Humane Society welcomed families, pet lovers and community vendors to Otterbein Park on May 17 for its sixth annual PAWlooza celebration in honor of National Rescue Dog Day.

The event featured a variety of family-friendly activities, including paw print and peanut butter art, face painting, carnival games, live music and food vendors. Guests also had the opportunity to browse offerings from more than 10 local vendors and businesses throughout the day.

Pets were welcomed at the event, provided they remained leashed and owners cleaned up after them.

Community participation played a major role in the success of the festival, with local businesses and organizations sponsoring the event. Sponsors included Chambersburg Super Techs, Kim Mills Realtor with Coldwell Banker Realty and the Owls Club.

Vendor booths showcased handmade goods, pet-related products and specialty items from businesses including Paws & Claws Purrfect Scents, Guy’s Custom Creations, Purple Lily, Little Buggy Crochet, Cump Custom Design, Muddy Paws Soap Co., Classic Brunette Boutique, Clarkstone Pet Lodge, For the Love of Dogs and a local plant vendor.

Attendees also enjoyed food truck offerings from SSG Canteen Grub Truck and Tucker’s Pucken.

The annual event continues to serve as a community gathering focused on celebrating rescue animals while supporting the Antietam Humane Society’s mission and outreach efforts.
