The United Way of Washington County, Maryland, recently made a generous donation of hygiene items to Hagerstown Community College’s Student Care Cupboard, supporting students in need across campus.
The Care Cupboard, located in the Student Center, provides enrolled students with free access to nonperishable foods, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, baby essentials, and grab-and-go snacks. The service is available to all current HCC students, regardless of income, and helps ensure that meeting basic needs doesn’t stand in the way of academic success.
Students can visit the Care Cupboard in rooms 163 and 171 of the Student Center. Hours for Room 163 are Monday, 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Tuesday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Care Cupboard Storeroom is open Monday, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. First-time users are asked to schedule an appointment with the Student Activities team.
Donations of nonperishable food, personal care items, cleaning and paper products are welcomed and can be dropped off at Student Center Room 163 during open hours. Specific item suggestions can be found on the HCC Care Cupboard’s Amazon wishlist.
