Reserve their royal seats now. The Washington County Parks & Recreation Department is set to host its highly anticipated 2025 Princess Party on Friday, Feb. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the HCC ARCC gymnasium in Hagerstown. This enchanting event invites young princes and princesses to partake in a magical evening filled with various activities, including pixie dust creation, temporary tattoos, photo booths, coloring, dancing and princess training. Attendees can also enjoy a moon bounce and special performances. Tickets are priced at $7 for children 12 and under and $3 for those 13 and older, with each child’s ticket exchangeable for an Activity Coupon Booklet at the door. The organizers emphasize that tickets must be purchased online, and will not be available for purchase at the door.

Tackle Hunger. The Soup-erbowl drive to tackle hunger is set to take place at the indoor flea market on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will be held at 66 W. Main St. in Waynesboro. Organizers are requesting donations of unexpired, non-perishable soup cans to support their efforts in combating food insecurity in the local community. This initiative aims to harness the energy surrounding the upcoming Super Bowl to make a positive impact on those in need.

Enjoy Winter. The inaugural Shippensburg Winterfest, organized by D.O.I.T. (Developing Our Inner Town), is set to take place on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. along King Street in downtown Shippensburg. This winter celebration will feature a variety of attractions, including live ice carving demonstrations, interactive ice games, food trucks, live entertainment and an ice sculpture stroll along East and West King Streets.

Join the winter adventure. Buttonwood Nature Center in Waynesboro is hosting a StoryWalk® Sunday event on Feb. 9, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. The featured book for February is “Hibernation Station” by Michelle Meadows, illustrated by Kurt Cyrus. Families are invited to join a guided walk along the story trail, where children will read the book and participate in fun activities. The event is free and open to all, with a focus on preschool and elementary-age children. After the walk, participants will gather around a campfire for s’mores and hot chocolate.

Have a spot of tea. The Washington County Free Library is set to host a whimsical Mystical Tea Party on Sunday, Feb. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. at their main branch located at 100 S. Potomac St. in Hagerstown. This free event invites attendees to don their finest tea attire or dress as their favorite fantasy character while celebrating National Tea Month. Participants will have the opportunity to taste-test various teas, engage in creative activities such as painting teacup saucers, enjoying music and partaking in games.
