Fans of high school football can rejoice as schedules for the 2025 season have been released, including those for the six teams in the Local.News1.org coverage area: Waynesboro, Greencastle-Antrim, Chambersburg, North Hagerstown, South Hagerstown and Smithsburg.
Waynesboro will once again play in the Mid-Penn Conference’s Keystone Division this fall. In division play, the Tribe will take on the likes of Gettysburg, Shippensburg, Red Land, Palmyra, Northern York, Mifflin County, Mechanicsburg, Lower Dauphin, and Hershey. Waynesboro will open its season against backyard rival and former Colonial Division playmate Greencastle-Antrim.
Speaking of those Blue Devils from Greencastle, their Colonial Division schedule will include contests against East Pennsboro, Milton Hershey, Big Spring, Boiling Springs, Susquehanna Township, West Perry, Trinity, and Middletown.
Chambersburg will compete in the Commonwealth Division against a rugged group of opponents that includes Altoona, Bishop McDevitt, CD East, Central Dauphin, Cumberland Valley, Harrisburg, State College, Carlisle, and Cedar Cliff.
Fairfield will not have a football team this fall. Instead, the Knights will send their players to compete for Gettysburg.
North Hagerstown, South Hagerstown, and Smithsburg all kick off their seasons in September. The Hubs and Rebels will duel in the final game of the season on Halloween night.
