CHAMBERSBURG – Franklin County Commissioners, in their third quarterly “on the road” meetings, will convene Oct. 16 at the Washington Township Municipal Office.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the township office at 11798 Buchanan Trail E, Waynesboro. Other off-site meetings were held in Antrim Township and Path Valley earlier this year.

Commissioners’ public board meetings are normally held at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Franklin County Administration Building in Chambersburg. Earlier this year, the commissioners announced plans to host an evening meeting on the third Wednesday of each month with one quarterly meeting to be held at an off-site location. In doing so, the commissioners are offering residents who may not be able to attend daytime meetings a greater opportunity for public engagement. Additionally, by moving meetings to other spots in the county, the commissioners hope to make attending meetings more accessible and convenient for residents who live outside of Chambersburg.

The commissioners will hold two additional evening meetings on Nov. 20 and Dec. 18. Both meetings will be held at the Franklin County Administration Building at 272 N. Second St., Chambersburg, at 6:30 p.m.
