GETTYSBURG – Main Street Gettysburg, Inc. has announced the dates and activities for the annual A Gettysburg Christmas Festival, set to take place Dec. 6-8.

The three-day event will transform Gettysburg’s historic downtown into a winter wonderland, featuring holiday entertainment, decorations and family activities. The festival will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Visitors can expect a variety of attractions, including live reindeer, mechanical rides, bounce houses and holiday-themed games. Santa’s Shanty will be open for children to share their Christmas wishes, while multiple face painting stations will offer festive designs.

The event will span from Lincoln Square to Steinwehr Avenue, covering less than a mile of the historic downtown area. Several streets will be closed to accommodate the festivities, including portions of Lincoln Square, Baltimore Street, Steinwehr Avenue and Culp Street.

New additions to this year’s festival include a human foosball game, a holiday photo booth and selfie stations featuring hand-painted backdrops by local artist Marty Mummert.

The Gettysburg Christmas Festival has become a beloved tradition in the community, drawing visitors from across the region to experience the town’s small-town holiday charm. The event is free to attend, with some activities offered at a nominal cost.

Local businesses and organizations are participating in the festival, offering special promotions and hosting various activities throughout the weekend. The Gettysburg Heritage Center, Shriver House Museum and Children of Gettysburg 1863 Museum are among the venues featuring special holiday programming. As the festival approaches, organizers encourage visitors to check the official website for the most up-to-date information on activities and schedules.
