CHAMBERSBURG—Vouchers for the 2024 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program are now available through the Franklin County Area Agency on Aging.
The program provides eligible seniors with $50 worth of vouchers to purchase fresh, locally grown produce from approved farmers markets and stands.
To qualify, Franklin County residents must be 60 years or older and meet income guidelines of $27,861 annually for a single-person household or $37,814 for a two-person household.
Eligible seniors will receive five $10 vouchers to buy fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. Processed foods, tropical fruits and non-food items are not eligible for purchase with the vouchers.
Vouchers can be picked up at the Area Agency on Aging office in Chambersburg through September 30. Seniors can also apply to receive vouchers by mail.
The program aims to provide low-income seniors access to nutritious, locally grown produce while supporting area farmers. Vouchers are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. For more information or to apply, seniors can contact the Franklin County Area Agency on Aging at 717-263-2153.
