HAGERSTOWN, Md.– An exciting evening of music is set to take place at the Maryland Theatre on Saturday, Sept. 21, as the iconic 1960s rock group, The Buckinghams, takes the stage. The concert, starting at 7 p.m., is organized by Julie Hammond of the Women’s Club and aims to benefit the Women’s Club Foundation.
The Buckinghams, known for their hit songs like “Kind of a Drag” and “Don’t You Care,” were formed in Chicago in 1966. The band continues to captivate audiences with their nostalgic sound, featuring two of the original members, Carl Giammarese and Nick Fortuna, who will perform alongside their current bandmates. Their show promises to not only revisit their classic hits but also include a selection of timeless favorites from the golden era of rock and pop music.
Opening for The Buckinghams will be the local band Staff Infection, adding to the evening’s entertainment. Concertgoers can look also forward to basket raffles and a photo opportunity to meet the band following the performance.
Tickets for the event are available for $39, $49 and $59, and can be purchased online or at the Maryland Theatre box office. Given the popularity of The Buckinghams, attendees are encouraged to secure their tickets early as they are expected to sell out quickly.
The Maryland Theatre, a historic venue with a capacity of 1,293, has been a cultural hub in the community, hosting a variety of performances and events throughout the year.
