HERSHEY — Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Pennsylvania, Special Olympics Pennsylvania and the Veterans Multi-Service Center will share more than $21,000 in unclaimed property gift cards at an event on Monday.

Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity will deliver the cards at a 1 p.m. event at the Ronald McDonald House in Hershey, with speakers from each charity also expected to be on hand to speak. The cards from Target, Visa and MasterCard were reported to the state treasury by two police departments.

This is part of Garrity’s effort to redistribute more than $4 billion in unclaimed property now held by the state. The unclaimed assets include forgotten bank accounts and uncashed checks, as well as unused gift cards.
