WAYNESBORO- The Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library in Waynesboro will host a series of educational classes titled Food, Fun, Farmers Market. This initiative aims to promote healthy eating and food safety among participants.
Classes started this week and will continue Aug.13,and 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at the library, located at 45 E. Main Street, Waynesboro. Participants will engage in discussions on various topics including Smart Snacks, Food Safety, My Plate, and Making Smart Drink Choices.
A highlight of the program is a visit to Waynesboro’s Market at the Park on August 24, where attendees can utilize a gift certificate earned by attending all four classes. This market visit will also take place from 10 a.m. to noon at 25 E. Main Street.
In addition to the main classes, the library will provide STEM activities for younger siblings during each session, ensuring a family-friendly environment. Registration is required for the main classes, with a limit of 12 participants, but younger children can join the STEM activities without prior registration. This program not only emphasizes nutritional education but also fosters community engagement through local market participation.
