Health Checks at Fort Ritchie

CASCADE, MD- The Fort Ritchie Community Center, located at 14421 Lake Royer Drive in Cascade, MD, is offering a range of health and community services in the coming weeks.

On Thursday, June 6, and Tuesday, June 8, from 8 a.m. to noon, Lindsay from the Washington County Health Department will be present at the Community Center to provide free blood pressure and pre-diabetes screenings. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to monitor their health and receive valuable information about managing these conditions.

Tabitha’s Table, a food pantry based in Smithsburg, MD, will be distributing food items at the Fort Ritchie Community Center on Tuesday, June 11, and Tuesday, June 25. The distribution will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until all food items are gone. This initiative aims to assist those in need within the community by providing access to essential food supplies.

On the last Wednesday of each month, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Miranda Tyler, a licensed massage therapist, will be offering chair massage services at the Community Center. Appointments are available on a walk-in basis, and clients can choose from 10, 15, or 20-minute massage sessions, paying by the minute. All clients must sign a liability form before receiving the service.

The Fort Ritchie Community Center encourages residents to take advantage of these valuable resources and services. By promoting health and well-being, as well as providing access to essential resources, the center aims to strengthen the local community.
