Bridge Replacement Project to Begin Next Week on Route 116 in Adams County

HARRISBURG- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that a bridge replacement project is scheduled to begin next week on Route 116 in Adams County. The bridge spans a tributary to Willoughby Run just west of Willoughby Run Road in Cumberland Township near Gettysburg. 

Weather permitting, on Monday, June 3, the contractor will begin installing erosion and sediment control measures at the construction site. There may be lane restrictions under daylight flagging.   

The relocation of sanitary sewer lines is tentatively expected to begin Monday, June 10. This work is expected to take about two weeks to complete. There may be lane restrictions as needed with flaggers providing traffic control.

A detour is expected to go into effect beginning Saturday, July 20, using Knoxlyn Ortanna Road (Route 3020), Knoxlyn Road (Route 3013). Route 30 and Baltimore Street. 

All work is expected to be completed by August 14, 2024.

Lobar Site Development Corporation, of Dillsburg, PA, is the contractor on this $935,279 project.
