WAYNESBORO – the Waynesboro Area YMCA celebrated its annual Healthy Kids Day on Friday, April 20, a national initiative to improve the health and well-being of children. The event took place from 10am to 1pm and was free and open to the public. Families in the community came together to move, learn, and have fun at the YMCA. The event featured a variety of engaging activities and community partners:

These community partners offered a wide range of free activities for the kids, including games, demonstrations, and educational experiences.
Summertime at the Y
Healthy Kids Day also served as a kickoff to the YMCA’s summer activities. Attendees had the opportunity to meet the coaches for the summer sports camps, including lacrosse, pickleball, and flag football. The YMCA’s Zumba instructors also led a fun workout for everyone to enjoy. Additionally, the Franklin County Libraries’ Book Buggy was on-site, hosting storytime readings in The Clubhouse throughout the event.
Open House Event
The YMCA also used Healthy Kids Day as an opportunity to welcome new members. Those who signed up on the day of the event received 30 days for free, plus no joining fee. The Waynesboro Area YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day was a resounding success, bringing the community together for a day of health, learning, and fun. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the importance of children’s well-being and kick off an exciting summer at the Y.
