WAYNESBORO- The Rotary Club of Waynesboro submitted the following club news:

Last Week’s Program (10.3.23 bulletin)

Franklin County Commissioner John Flannery gave us an overview of the 52 Departments in the county with over 700 employees. He highlighted a few projects including NextGen 911, which is scheduled to launch in April of 2024. This will allow those in needs of assistance to send text messages to 911. The Coroner’s Office has been extensively renovated at little cost to the taxpayer thanks to the efforts of the Coroner and his staff. The inmate population at the Franklin County Jail has steadily been declining. This helps the taxpayer since it costs $133 per day to house an inmate. If you’re interested in learning more, the Commissioner’s can be contacted at (717) 261-3810 or [email protected].
