CHAMBERSBURG — It is with gratitude and appreciation that the Board of Directors announces the retirement of Bonnie Zehler, Executive Director of Luminest Community Development, after 25 years of dedicated service and strong leadership.
An expert in the field of Affordable Housing, Ms. Zehler led the Company to develop homes for over 300 families, provide employment for more than 20 staff, and generate over $70 million in investments in Franklin, Adams, and Cumberland Counties. She continues to be the “go to” person for individuals, groups, companies, and elected officials who want to better understand affordable housing development and management needs and opportunities in the local area.
While the Board, staff, and residents will be sad to see Ms. Zehler go, they wish her the utmost joy in her retirement. We are thankful that she will be working with the Board and staff through the end of this year to find the right person to continue to lead the organization forward to make and continue to expand affordable housing in our area.
Luminest Community Development started in July 2002 as a startup non-profit to develop affordable homes in Franklin County. The Board of Directors envisioned building stronger neighborhoods, better homes and brighter futures for families throughout Franklin County and the surrounding areas. Luminest Community Development achieves those goals with each new development.
