WAYNESBORO- The Rotary Club of Waynesboro submitted the following club news:
Last Week’s Program (6.20.23 bulletin)
Rotarian John Taylor, of Shepherdstown, serves as the chair of the Casa Blanca Water Project. John spent time serving in the Peace Corp in El Salvador in his younger years. His time of service blessed him with many lasting friendships and provided him with many opportunities to give back. These opportunities included leading our district to give $120,000 in a well project for Casa Blanca in El Salvador. In addition to the water project, there is an opportunity for our club (and individual members) to help provide electricity to 13 homes in San Rafael Arriba through their Rays of Hope program. It only costs $1,500 to sponsor electricity for one home. That sponsorship includes 2 solar panels, 3 lights, 2 plugs and 1 battery pack. If you’re interested in more details of Casa Blanca or Rays of Hope, John can be reached at [email protected].
