Summer Reading Blast Off! 
June 10th 10 a.m. โ€“ 1 p.m. โ€“ Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library invites all ages to 
join us for our official summer kick-off. Come sign up for the Summer Program and enjoy fun 
activities for the whole family! Including: Registration & Giveaways; Bucket Dunk Challenge; 
Refreshments; and Straw Rockets STEM Project (10-11 a.m.). Did you know that the 
Summer Program is for all ages – Kids, Teens, and Adults? There are lots of events for the 
various age groups, all year round, plus, in the summer everyone can earn reading points for a

What is Socrates Cafรฉ? Itโ€™s a gathering where people thoughtfully exchange ideas about 
existential/philosophical questions, with maximum respect for othersโ€™ opinions. The libraryโ€™s 
Socrates Cafรฉ is only one of hundreds around the world. 

 
Step Back In Time: The Lilac Bush by George Beard Coffman (Virtual) 
Friday, June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, 9 โ€“ 9:30 a.m. 
Join us as we share personal accounts and handed down stories from times gone by in and 
around Waynesboro. This month we will share parts of The Lilac Bush, an autobiographical 
account of life in and around Waynesboro from 1758 to 1952 written by George Beard 
Coffman.

Join us as sisters Jessie and Dani share their newly published book: Sistering: The Art of 
Holding Close and Letting Go. With honesty, laughter, adoration, and a few choice swear 
words, these author-sisters look together at their lives and the love that makes it all worthwhile.

Hooks & Needles: Making a Pot Holder 
Thursday, June 8, 1โ€“ 3 p.m. 
Come join us for our Hooks & Needles Program at the library. Our program will give you the 
option of bringing with you what you are working on and joining in our group that talks about 
their current projects and shares ideas and encouragement. This is a great place to share your 
ideas or to learn some new stitching skills. You can also participate in our Making A Pot Holder 
class. If you choose to do this, bring along a skein of cotton yarn (any color) and an H hook. 
Zentangle Fun

Come join us today for a time of creativity and meditation. Registration is required at the 
library. Registration fee for the class is $2.00. In today’s class we will be learning 4 new tangles 
to add to our collection. 

Paint Pouring Class 
Tuesday, June 13, 5 โ€“ 6:30 p.m. 
You asked for it, here it is! We will offer an adult paint pouring class in the courtyard at the 
library where instructor Terri will lead you through the creation. Registration is required at the 
library. A non-refundable class fee of $10 must be paid at time of registration. Class size is 
limited so register early. 

 
The Art of Charcuterie I 
Tuesday, June 20, 1 โ€“ 2:30 p.m. 
Learn how to put a delicious and colorful charcuterie board together and then take it 
home to enjoy! Space for the class is limited, so registration is required at the library 
A $15 class fee must be paid at time of registration. No refunds will be provided for 
those not attending. PLEASE NOTE: If this day and time does not work for your

Walking Librarian In-Person Walk: Waltonian Meadows

Wonโ€™t you join the Walking Librarian at Waltonian Meadows (Izaak Walton League 
Grounds) for this fun program geared for all ages. The address for our location is 129

The Hurried Cook (Virtual)

Have you ever had a day that you realize itโ€™s time for dinner and you have nothing prepared 
and are not sure what you are going to make? Do you always seem to be short on time and 
want to spend less time in the kitchen, but you want to still put a great meal on the table? Why 
not plan to join us for our new series The Hurried Cook. We will be joining you virtually on the 
3rd Wednesday of each month to bring you ideas, tips, and recipes. Todayโ€™s recipe will be 
individual strawberry shortcakes. 

 
Crafting: Make A Beaded Hair Comb 
Thursday, June 22, 9 โ€“ 9:30 a.m. 
This class will be offered virtually on Thursday, June 22nd. To participate, you can stop by the 
library Saturday, June 17th to pay your class fee and pick up your craft kit. Your kit will include 
two combs, beads, and the wire needed to complete the project. The kits will be offered on a 
first come, first served basis. No early sign-ups will be allowed. 

 
Senior Hooks & Needles

Are you 60 or over and want to join a group of crocheters & knitters? Why not stop by 
Waynesboro Senior Center for the libraryโ€™s Hooks & Needles Program. Bring what you are 
working on, or come use library supplies and work on one of our Comfort in Crisis Projects.

Homeschool Club 
June 1st 
10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. 
Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library hosts a parent-led Homeschool Enrichment Club, 
where participants in grades K-12 participate in art activities, STEM challenges, and more. 
Each week has a different theme, with teens & kids sometimes splitting into groups, or staying 
together, depending on the activities. June 1st is the last Homeschool Club until fall! Planned 
activities are a student art exhibit and year-end awards. 

 
MakerSpace Days 
June 7th, 4 – 5:30 p.m. 
This summer Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library invites teens & preteens ages 10-18 
to join us on 1st Wednesdays for a series of activities in the libraryโ€™s MakerSpace, with guest 
teacher Julie Diaz. Juneโ€™s activity is โ€œStarry Night Turbulence: What is hiding in one of the

to investigate the power of liquids!โ€

Pokรฉmon Club! This club is dedicated to battling via the Pokรฉmon card game. If you donโ€™t 
already know how to play, leaders Chad & Kurt Ewell will teach you everything you need to 
know! Feel free to bring your own deck if you have one. We will also have decks here. 
This summer, we have separate clubs for Kids and Teens, every 2nd Saturday in the 2nd floor 
Community Room. 

 
Teen Game Nights (Online)

5:45 – 6:45 p.m. 
Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library hosts Teen Game Night via Discord. Teens ages 
13-18, do you have a smartphone, tablet, PC, and/or console that you play games on? Do you 
have online games to play & no one to play with? Looking for a game to play but donโ€™t know 
where to start? Join us on our AHMFL Teen Discord to see what games are happening! We 
play online multiplayer games such as Among Us, Jackbox, Unfortunate Spacemen, Gartic 
Phone, Minecraft, and more. Put in your vote for what you want to play! To join us, you’ll need 
to be a member of AHMFL’s Teen Discord, since this is how we meet up, choose games, & 
share codes to access our game lobbies. To become a member, teens must return a 
permission slip signed by a parent/guardian. Please contact AHMFL Teen Librarian Miss Gina 
at (717) 762-3335 to request a slip. Unfortunately, Discord has a strict age 13+ policy, so we 
direct 12-yr-old patrons to try our in-person Game Nights instead, until they turn 13. 
Online Teen Game Nights are a regular program on alternating Tuesdays, 5:45-6:45 p.m
