If Amelia could talk she would have quite the story! It all started when shelter staff were leaving for the day and Amelia was spotted walking down the road in front of the shelter. They tried to coax her over but she was very timid. So a feeding station was set up and over the next couple of weeks Amelia would come in the evenings and eat. There were several sightings of her throughout the day as well by neighbors of the shelter, and luckily one evening Amelia decided to invite herself to another dog’s yard. The kind owner closed the gate and called us that they had her secured! With some coaxing and LOTS of treats Amelia went with the staff and made herself at home at the shelter. We think she’s a Shepherd/husky mix and about a year old. As you can imagine, it takes Amelia a while to warm up, but once she trusts you, it’s true love. She does bark at new people at first but treats and time help her make new friends! Because of her past history of running, Amelia will need a home with a fence and because we don’t know anything about her past history with children, an age restriction may apply. Do you have the right spot for Amelia?
Hamilton is a 3-year-old brown tabby boy with white who came into the shelter as a stray, so we don’t know a lot about him. He can be a little reserved and will need someone who understands it might take time for him to adjust to a new environment. He loves to get scratches, though, and will warm up once he knows he can trust you. Do you have the right spot for Hamilton?
