CHAMBERSBURG– The Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation is pleased to announce Orrstown Bank has generously committed $15,000 in Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) funds.
The contribution will support the Chamber Foundation’s Technology Innovation Challenge Grants, which are awarded to educators in Franklin County’s public schools for students in Kindergarten through grade 12. Educators submit proposals for unique technology programs, which are reviewed by a subcommittee of the Chamber Foundation comprised of board members and retired teachers. Projects that received funding in 2021 included computer coding for elementary students and an online history archive for high schoolers.
The Chamber Foundation is an approved Educational Improvement Organization, allowing all contributing organizations to receive Educational Improvement Tax Credit through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. Since 1999, the Chamber Foundation has funded more than $428,000 from this grant program.
“These generous contributions from local businesses are essential to keeping our Technology Innovation Challenge Grant program in operation,” said Virginia Harriger, executive director of the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation. “Orrstown Bank has been a longtime supporter of the program and is committed to improving the education of our Franklin County students; thank you for your donation.”
