Y launches free blood pressure program

CHAMBERSBURG – The Chambersburg YMCA will launch a free blood pressure self-monitoring program for the community beginning Tuesday, May 27. The new initiative aims to help adults manage hypertension and improve overall heart health through personalized coaching, nutrition education and practical tips for maintaining cardiovascular wellness.

The program is open to adults 18 and older who have been diagnosed with high blood pressure. Individuals who have experienced a recent cardiac event, have atrial fibrillation or other arrhythmias, or are at risk for lymphedema are not eligible to participate.

Participants will receive guidance on developing a routine for self-monitoring blood pressure, along with support for making healthy lifestyle changes. The YMCA’s program is evidence-based and designed to empower individuals to take control of their cardiovascular health.

For more information, interested individuals can contact Ben Pessah-Berlin at [email protected].
