Owls/VFW 5/5

WYL Major League Owls snagged a late lead and defeated VFW 4-3 on Friday.  The game was tied at three with WYL Major League Owls batting in the bottom of the fifth when Zach B grounded out, scoring one run.

VFW got on the board in the first inning when Cam C singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Brayden H led things off on the mound for WYL Major League Owls. The pitcher surrendered two runs on three hits over three innings, striking out eight.

Cam was on the mound for VFW. Cam went three and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out seven.  Jake F threw one and one-third innings in relief.

Conlan K led WYL Major League Owls with two hits in three at bats.

Owls/Eagles 5/3

WYL Major League Owls weathered a push by Eagles in the first inning where WYL Major League Owls coughed up four runs, but WYL Major League Owls still won 11-4 on Wednesday.  Caleb D and Jayce K all drove in runs in the frame.

In the first inning, WYL Major League Owls got their offense started.

WYL Major League Owls knotted the game up at four in the top of the second inning.  WYL Major League Owls scored two runs when Palmer D singled.

WYL Major League Owls pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning.  In the third an error scored two runs for WYL Major League Owls.

WYL Major League Owls put up three runs in the fourth inning.  Kason S, Brayden H, and Zach B each drove in runs during the inning.

Alex J led things off on the pitcher’s mound for WYL Major League Owls. The righty went one inning, allowing four runs on two hits and striking out two.

Caleb toed the rubber for Eagles. The pitcher went one inning, allowing three runs on zero hits.  Aiden H and Jayce entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three innings and two innings respectively.

WYL Major League Owls hit one home run on the day. Kason went deep in the sixth inning.

WYL Major League Owls saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game.  Palmer and Kason all managed multiple hits for WYL Major League Owls.  Palmer led WYL Major League Owls with three hits in four at bats.
