WILLIAMSPORT – The Town of Williamsport held its municipal election on Monday, March 4, with one contested race. Mayor William Green and Assistant Mayor Dennis Grove both ran unopposed and three people ran for town councilperson: William Ball III, Charles Brown III and Cathrine Miller ran for two open seats on the dais. Jessica Miller was listed on the ballot but reported on the town webpage as withdrawing her certificate of candidacy.
The unofficial tally of votes shows Mayor William Green and Assistant Mayor Dennis Grove retaining their positions with 165 and 158 votes respectively.
Those running for town councilperson received the following vote totals Charles Brown III, 156 votes; William Ball III, 98 votes; and Cathleen Miller, 84 votes.
The Town’s Board of Election Supervisors will present the totals and have the sitting mayor and town council accept the outcome of the election at their regular session on Monday, March 10.
Mayor Green will be sworn in for his next term at a special session on March 17 by the Washington County Clerk of Courts and then Mayor Green will swear in all other victors.
