WILLIAMSPORT, Md. – The Town of Williamsport will dedicate Springfield Manor on Wednesday, Nov. 5, marking the culmination of nearly a decade of community efforts to bring the homestead of founder Otho Holland Williams into public ownership.
The ceremony, set for noon at Springfield Barn, 12 Springfield Lane, will feature inspiring remarks from elected officials, local leaders and special guests. Attendees can expect a self-guided walk through the Gate House, Spring House, Tavern and Mansion, followed by light refreshments and time to mingle with neighbors and friends.
“This is more than a dedication; it is the beginning of a new chapter of Williamsport’s history,” town officials said in an invitation to the event. The manor, preserved for generations, will serve as a hub for learning, gathering and exploring local heritage.
Residents are encouraged to bring family and friends to celebrate the once-in-a-generation milestone.
