WellSpan to sponsor Mercy House charity walk

CHAMBERSBURG – Mercy House of Chambersburg is proud to announce WellSpan Health as the premier sponsor of its second annual charity walk, Miles for Mercy House, scheduled for Oct. 11. This marks the first sponsorship partnership between WellSpan Health and the end-of-life home.

“We are extremely grateful for WellSpan Health’s support of our mission,” said Torey Kauffman, executive director of Mercy House. “This partnership demonstrates a shared commitment to wellness and strengthening our community.”

The family-friendly walking event will take place on Oct. 11 with registration opening at 9:30 a.m. Welcome remarks will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the walk start at 10:15 a.m. Participants can walk as many laps as they choose around the half-mile course, making the event accessible to walkers of all ages and fitness levels.

All registered participants will receive a commemorative walk T-shirt and healthy snacks and water. To guarantee a T-shirt, participants must register by Sept. 25, though additional shirts will be available for purchase on event day. The walk will also feature prizes for participants and door prize drawings throughout the event.

“WellSpan Health is committed to supporting initiatives that promote lifelong wellness and community partnerships,” said Niki Hinckle, senior vice president at WellSpan Health. “The Miles for Mercy House walk perfectly aligns with our values of health, community and caring for others.”
