WAYNESBORO – The Waynesboro Children’s Theatre Troupe, known as WCTT, will bring the swamp and spectacle of “Shrek the Musical” to the Waynesboro Area Senior High School stage Dec. 4-7. The performances mark the culmination of a four-month rehearsal period for the young cast.
The production dates are scheduled for a four-show run in early December. The show will open on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. Following the opening night, there will be two performances on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 12 noon and 7 p.m. The final performance will be a Sunday matinee on Dec. 7 at 2 p.m.
WCTT officials noted the company’s foundational policy of inclusivity, stating that every child who auditions for a role is cast in the show. The troupe welcomes participants from 6 to 18 years old from across Franklin County. Over the course of the season, the organization fosters a family-like atmosphere where members work together and support one another.
Tickets for the performances are currently available for purchase on the WCTT website, www.WCTT.org.
