WAYNESBORO – Brady Myers, a sophomore standout at Waynesboro Area Senior High School and son of Steve Myers, has won a scholarship covering all expenses to a Wrestling With the Outdoors leadership summit at Coulter Lake Ranch in Rifle, Colorado, June 21-26.
Only 20 wrestlers in the nation each year are offer these scholarships, Waynesboro school officials said. Brady will be sharing his time with and learning from NCAA national wrestling champions and Olympic freestyle wrestling champions.
He will learn lessons of being a leader through servitude, growing in areas related to character development, train wrestling, and enjoying the outdoors at Coulter Lake Ranch.
The scholarship was presented by a founder of the Wrestling With The Outdoors Organization Robert Rapsey and Waynesboro Mayor Dade Royer.
Royer also spoke to the varsity wrestling team about wrestling’s impact in his family’s life. He shared a message with the team about goals, commitments, determination and how to face life’s battles through a wrestling lens. Afterwards Royer enjoyed leading the team with a GO BORO!
