WAYNESBORO, Pa – The Waynesboro Area YMCA welcomed community members for its Spring Senior Wellness Day on May 6, offering a range of resources designed to support healthy aging.
The free event featured vendors, health screenings, evaluations, activities and prize giveaways, all aimed at helping seniors stay physically active and cognitively engaged. Representatives from several organizations were on hand to provide information and services, including Visiting Angels, Journey Hospice, Albright Life Center, Providence Senior Living, Keystone Health, the Franklin County Area Agency on Aging, Edward Jones, PA Health and Wellness and licensed benefits advisor Holly Stull.
Attendees had the opportunity to connect directly with healthcare providers, financial advisors and senior care specialists, gaining insight into programs and services available within the community. Screenings and evaluations offered practical tools for managing health, while interactive activities encouraged movement and social engagement.
Organizers emphasized the importance of community support in promoting senior wellness. According to the YMCA, older adults who remain healthy, active and motivated play a vital role in building strong, thriving communities.
“Senior Wellness Day is designed to give seniors access to resources that help them maintain independence and quality of life,” representatives said. “With the right support, seniors can continue to achieve amazing things.”
