HAGERSTOWN – Washington County government offices will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 31, and Thursday, Jan. 1, in observance of the New Year’s holiday. Several departments and services announced schedule changes for the holiday period.
The Hagerstown Regional Airport administrative offices will be closed both days and reopen Friday, Jan. 2. Allegiant flights will operate as scheduled on Dec. 31, with an 8:43 a.m. arrival and 9:33 a.m. departure to Orlando/Sanford International Airport. No flights are scheduled for Jan. 1.
The Department of Environmental Management offices, the Forty West Landfill and all transfer stations will close Wednesday and Thursday, resuming regular service Jan. 2.
Washington County Transit will stop service at 7 p.m. on Dec. 31 and remain closed Jan. 1. The final bus routes of the day include stops in Smithsburg, Robinwood, Long Meadow, Premium Outlets, Valley Mall, West End, Williamsport and Funkstown, among others. Regular service resumes Friday morning.
Black Rock Golf Course will operate as normal throughout the holiday, while the Treasurer’s Office and State’s Attorney’s Office will both close Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
All essential public safety services will remain in effect during the holiday period.
