Verify your vote: Check status now

CHAMBERSBURG – Do you know where your polling place is located? Are you still considered an active voter? Voters who are unsure of these answers can verify this information online through the Pennsylvania SURE Public Portal. Voters can visit www.pavoterservices.pa.gov and click on the Find Voter Registration Status link to search for their voter registration status (active or inactive) and polling place address.

The elections will be held on Nov. 4. The deadline to register to vote or to make any changes to a voter’s registration is Oct. 20. If voters’ information shows an outdated address after the Oct. 20 deadline, by law voters can vote at their old polling place for one election. While at the polling place, voters can ask the Judge of Election for the proper form to update their name and/or address for the next election. Once the Franklin County Voter Registration Office processes the request, the voter will be mailed a new registration card reflecting the updated information and polling place location.

One Franklin County polling location has permanently changed ahead of the November election. Voters in the Metal 3 precinct will vote at the Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church, 16950 Main St., Spring Run.

Voters affected by a change in voting precincts will receive a new voter registration card in the mail before the election. Voters who are voting in a new precinct for the first time may be asked to show ID at their new polling location.

You may use one of the following forms of photo identification, so long as it is not expired, canceled or revoked:

· Pennsylvania driver’s license or PennDOT ID card

· ID issued by any Commonwealth agency

· ID issued by the U.S. government

· U.S. passport

· U.S. armed forces ID

· Student ID

Voters who do not have a photo ID can use one of the following so long as it includes the voter’s name and address:

· Voter registration card issued by the Voter Registration Office

· Non-photo ID issued by the Commonwealth

· Non-photo ID issued by the U.S. government

· Firearm permit

· Current utility bill

· Current bank statement

· Paycheck

· Government check

Any questions concerning a voter’s registration should be directed to the Franklin County Voter Registration Office at 717-261-3886. Any questions concerning polling places or the upcoming election should be directed to the Franklin County Election Board at 717-261-3812.
