CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — More than 60,000 books, puzzles, games, movies and more will be for sale when Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County and St. John’s United Church of Christ team up once again for their popular Used Book Sale. All proceeds from the Oct. 23-25 event will benefit Habitat’s local homebuilding efforts.
The 60,000 items represent the largest collection in this sale’s history. Proceeds will help support the construction of Habitat’s next home in Franklin County.
The sale will be held at St. John’s UCC, 1811 Lincoln Way E.
Hours on Friday, Oct. 23, will be 2-8 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 24, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 25, noon-4 p.m.
“We’re eager to welcome shoppers to the 2026 sale,” said Mark Story, Habitat’s director of advancement. “It’s an amazing way to bring the community together while supporting affordable homeownership in Franklin County.”
More than 150 volunteers contribute a collective 2,000 hours to make this event possible, Story said.
Habitat is especially grateful to St. John’s UCC for hosting the sale; BCM Payroll Services for its generous marketing sponsorship; Target for covering all transportation costs; and The Butcher Shoppe for donating bags.
On Sunday, shoppers can take advantage of “Bag Day” and fill a bag for $5.
