IJAMSVILLE, Md. – South Hagerstown reached the end of the line of the 2025 football season on Thursday.
The was a season of discovery and improvement for the Rebels. But it was also the end of the line for one of South’s top players.
The fourth-seeded Rebels got down early and couldn’t comeback as top-seeded Urbana scored a 20-6 victory in the second round of the Class 4A/3A West Regional playoffs.
South ends the season with a 4-7 record. The Rebels went .500 in their last eight games after starting the season at 0-3.
Urbana (7-4) advances to the state quarterfinals against a yet-to-be-demined opponent. The final eight teams – two from each of the four geographical regions – are reseeded in order to set the matchups.

Davis scored with 2:58 remaining in the game on a 20-yard pass from Lucas Semler to help the Rebels avoid a shutout.
Kiegan Rupinta kicked two field goals and ran for a touchdown to lead the Hawks.
Rupinta connected on kicks of 40 and 33 yards to give Urbana a 6-0 halftime lead.
Urbana took the second-half kickoff and had a long drive saved when quarterback Josh White hit Chase Kramer with a 24-yard scoring pass on fourth-down play at the 7:11 mark for a 13-0 lead.
Rupinta scored on a 16-yard run with 2:03 remaining in the third quarter to give the Hawks a 20-0 lead and close their scoring.
